She attended Grandview and St. John's grade schools and graduated from Neillsville High School. After her schooling, she cleaned houses in Neillsville and Milwaukee for a short time and then was united in marriage by Pastor Baumann to August Nemitz on Aug. 11, 1937, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. She also enjoyed crocheting. She crocheted many afghans and scrubbies in her life. Another joy to Meta was traveling as she took many bus trips throughout the United States.
She is survived by two sons, Herbert (Betty) Nemitz and Melvin (Sharon) Nemitz, both of Neillsville; six grandchildren, Todd (Janice) Nemitz of Neillsville, Shelly (Sam) Strobel of Arpin, Jeanine (David) Voigt of Neillsville, Julie (Jay) Nikolay of Auburndale, Rachel Nemitz of Rhinelander and John Nemitz of Menomonie; and eight great-grandchildren, Josh, Cassi, Katarina, Tanner, Cole, Josie, Dylan and Nathan.
